Shari Botwin
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Shari has been counseling trauma survivors in her Philadelphia-based private practice for almost thirty years. Her books, “Thriving After Trauma” (2019) and “Stolen Childhoods: Thriving After Abuse” (2024), focus on overcoming various forms of trauma and abuse. Botwin has served as an expert witness in high-profile cases, including those against R. Kelly, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Stuart Copperman. She has been a featured panelist and internationally sought out Keynote speaker at numerous conferences. Botwin is a regular guest contributor on the Law & Crime network and she has made numerous media appearances on NBC News Now, NBC Nightly, CBS Today, Good Morning America, CTV, and CNN.
Botwin has also been quoted in the Associated Press, New York Times, Boston Globe, Sports Illustrated, Parents Magazine, Parade Magazine, and Rolling Stone Magazine. She just completed a Keynote presentation for Helix Human Services on the profound impact of one caring adult on a child’s healing journey. Recently, she was invited to Rutgers University MSW program to teach a course for advanced-level students on working with clients overcoming trauma and abuse. Botwin has also conducted keynote presentations for institutions such as Advanced Recovery Systems, Stockton University, Monte Nido Eating Disorders Center, and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
