ACEs and PACEs
Through a blend of research, personal healing stories, and professional expertise, participants will explore in Part 1 how stable, supportive relationships serve as a foundation for recovery. The session offers practical, evidence-based strategies—developed from the presenter's published work and real-life experience—for community care providers and individuals alike. Part 2 of this focused workshop addresses the unique needs of children, teens, and adults who have survived childhood abuse. Drawing on the latest research and the presenter's firsthand insights, the session offers clear guidance and practical methods for aiding young and adult survivors.
TRACK
ONE

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to identify at least three evidence-based strategies for fostering supportive relationships that aid in trauma recovery among adults. Attendees will demonstrate the ability to apply two trauma-informed approaches in their professional practice, as measured by case examples and scenario-based discussions.

Attendees will develop and implement effective strategies to recognize, manage, and reflect on countertransference responses when working with adults who have survived any type of trauma and abuse, ensuring ethical and supportive professional practice.

Identify and describe at least three trauma-informed, evidence-based strategies that support recovery and resilience in survivors of childhood abuse. Attendees will learn at least three coping techniques they can provide to children or teens diagnosed with PTSD.

Attendees will discuss how one caring adult can reduce risks of self-destructive behaviors later in life, after experiencing adverse childhood experiences.
Suicide Prevention
This track explores community-based approaches to suicide prevention, including evidence-based training programs and strategies for public awareness and recovery. Sessions focus on practical tools communities can access, adopt, adapt, and sustain.
